Product Description
This coffee is processed at the Addisu Wet Mill in the village of Buku, Hambela District, Guji.
Farmers bring their cherries to the Addisu Wet Mill, where they are carefully sorted to remove defects. The cherries are washed, soaked for four hours, fermented, and dried on raised beds for 11 days until they reach a final moisture level of 10.5%. Addisu Kidane, the station manager, sorts the coffees into Grade 1 and Grade 2, based on density in the fermentation tanks.
Addisu's journey with coffee began fourteen years ago as a coffee grower on his 17-hectare farm at an impressive altitude of 2,180 metres. Until 2022, he sold his red cherry to the Halo Beriti Cooperative, where it was blended with other producers’ coffee. However, Addisu's coffee stands out for its unique qualities, and thanks to Abenezer of Origin Land, it is now exported independently.
