Product Description
Finca Villa Betulia is located in the highlands of Acevedo, Huila. It represents over 40 years of dedication from second-generation producer Luis Aníbal Calderón. In 2011, due to unsustainable C-market prices, Luis faced the risk of losing his farm. To secure its future, he began shifting towards specialty coffee. In 2012, he planted his first 5,000 Gesha trees. By 2015, he started converting the entire farm to exotic varieties. This decision has since shaped his approach.
Today, Villa Betulia stands out as one of Colombia’s most diverse farms. It features over 20 cultivars and prioritizes precision processing. Luis is known for mastering extended fermentations and controlled drying. He uses processing techniques to enhance clarity, structure, and depth in the cup.
This lot is part of our limited nano lot series. These small, exceptional coffees slightly differ from our core offering. Some focus on unique processing, while others, like this one, combine variety, terroir, and fermentation. Expect flavors of piña colada, green apple, and lychee. It has a silky, juicy texture and vibrant tropical acidity. This distinctive filter coffee showcases the evolving potential of Colombian coffee.
