Product Description
Sítio Joaninha, nestled in the Boa Vista Valley near Caconde, is the result of Valdir José Ferreira’s vision and dedication. Valdir grew up spending holidays on his grandparents’ farm before returning as an adult to manage the land, joined by his parents. Together with his wife, Daniela, and their two children, Carlos Eduardo and Emanuele, Valdir has transformed Sítio Joaninha into one of the region’s most forward-thinking farms.
The farm’s name, inspired by the ladybug (Joaninha in Portuguese), reflects its mission to restore balance to the ecosystem. Once driven away by agrochemical use, ladybugs, bees, and butterflies have returned to Sítio Joaninha thanks to regenerative practices led by Valdir and the farmers of Boa Vista Valley in collaboration with Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF). These efforts include planting native trees, purifying water, and using biodigesters to collect gas for cooking. With one of the highest active tree planting rates per hectare, Sítio Joaninha is a standout for sustainability and biodiversity.
This year’s harvest is a milestone, producing the highest cupping coffee from the region. Each step of cultivation and processing is carried out with precision and care, resulting in an exceptional filter coffee.
Expect notes of apple pie, mandarin orange, red apple, toffee, and cream, with a smooth, refined body. This coffee is a testament to Valdir’s commitment to regenerative agriculture, producing a cup that balances vibrant complexity with a touch of elegance. Sítio Joaninha is a true reflection of the harmony between quality coffee and environmental stewardship.
