Product Description
Luciano’s father, Antonio Vicente, moved to the mountainous coffee farming town of Caconde in São Paulo when he was fifteen years old. He got married, bought a piece of land up the mountain called Vila Vicente, built his house, and started cultivating coffee. Luciano and his seven siblings were born and raised here, surrounded by coffee trees.
When Luciano inherited three hectares of his father’s land, he struggled to continue with the coffee plantation, which was still treated as a commodity. With the help of his neighbor, João Hamilton, he started producing specialty coffee in 2014. “João told me about FAF’s project, about taking care of the land and revitalizing the soil, decreasing insecticides, and picking and drying at riper levels. He also said that my land had good altitude and that I could produce high-quality coffees here.” With enthusiasm and deep passion for his coffee fields, Luciano is taking care of the land and being part of the FAF Coffees agronomist project, focusing on increasing quality and promoting sustainable farm management.
